Book The Storyteller- Dave Grohl

So I wrote a book.I’ve been thinking about doing it for years, and even got a few dubious offers. (“It’s a piece of cake! All you have to do is do four hours of interviews, find someone to write it for you, put your face on the cover, and you’re done!”) I decided to write my stories the way I’ve always done it – with my own hand. They’re like a song I recorded and can’t wait to share with the world, or reading a primitive journal entry from a stained notebook. Or even listening to my own voice echoing off Kiss posters in my room as a child.It certainly doesn’t mean I’m quitting my job, but it gives me a chance to shine a little light on what it’s like to be a kid from Springfield, Virginia, going through life while accomplishing everything he dreamed of as a young musician. I’ll tell you how I went on tour with Scream when I was 18, played with Nirvana and Foo Fighters, jammed with Iggy Pop or performed at the Oscars. I danced with AC/DC and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, drummed for Toma Petty and met Sir Paul McCartney. I used to tell bedtime stories with Joan Jett and once I met Little Richard by chance. And then I also flew halfway around the world to enjoy a spectacular night with my daughters…And there’s so much more. I look forward with great enthusiasm to focusing a lens for you that will make me see these memories a little more clearly.
